Maiden Flight

Maiden flight of the CX200 V3 went very well today. I was using the futaba gy240 gyro.
The new 3500 kv motor does very well. Lots of power to spare. Did some very fast circuits and extremely fast Piro's. Clicked on the idle up switch and that motor screamed. The main shaft held and so did the tail shaft. That little heli rocks! The new main blades are perfect for this setup. Very happy with the maiden. I have it all on video with the new video camera. Just need to load it on the computer and get some more flight vids. Will be trying some backflips with it and inverts. I can honestly say...this heli can easily do 3d!

CopterX 200 V3 Modifications

Just finished the modifications on the CopterX 200 V3.
Tail boom supports and tail boom servo mounts.
Its looking alot better now. Wouldnt you know it, when im ready to maiden it...My tx starts goes down. I brought the DX7 into my local hobby store to get it shipped out for fixing. They said they will give me a loaner on Monday to get the heli in the air. Will see how it goes.
Yes!!! I will be attempting some flips and inverts with the heli!!!

Copterx 200 V3

So the copterx 200 V3 comes with the same 2mm tail shaft but hardened steel. The main shaft is still 3mm but it is also hardened steel. Motor is a 3500 KV brushless motor. Lots of power there! The canopy is alot nicer. Everything else is the same as the orginal cx200. So if you own the original you'll have no problems converting it. The blades are alot wider and the same length as the original blades. They are alot lighter also. They should work quite fine.

Copterx 200 V3

Started the build on the cx200v3. Have it almost completed. My DX7 transmitter is acting up. Will have to send it in to get fixed. Im hoping the local hobby store can give me a loaner so I can get some vid of this bird flying. So far the build is exactly the same as the original cx200.
It has a new canopy, and 3500 kv motor. The blades are also new. They are wider and alot lighter than the original blades.

The copterx 200 V3 is now in production. They werent happy with the design of the canopy, and are still testing other canopies. This is what's holding up the bird from been retailed right now. She'll be up and on the shelfs most likely within two weeks.

So the news is: The copterx 200 V3 will be coming out in March. In about 3 to 4 weeks.
Right now the hold up is with the canopy. They are testing out several canopies, that they want to use. Its getting close to the one they will choose.

Nice flight today with the CX450SE

Finished up this weeks vid with all the testing on the g401b gyro and the ARC 3700 brushless motor. Backflips are real nice now...im still dropping in height but they are smoother. Soon it will be time for the fwd flip and and a fast roll. Very happy with the G401B gyro for 39 dollars. It holds just as well as my Futaba 401 gyro but at a quarter of the price. The ARC 3700 with a 13t pinion....KICKS ASS! Very impressed with that motor!

Testing on the g401b gyro is complete.

Tested out the g401b gyro today with the ARC 3700 brushless motor. The gyro is rock solid...for 39 dollars...you cant go wrong. You'll be amazed on how good it is. I know..i know...its hard to believe..but its true...its rock solid. The ARC 3700 kicked ass. It just screamed with power. It was so scary it got my knees a shakin. Youll be impressed also with the brushless motor from lightflightrc.com. Video will be posted this Friday.

Copterx 450SE arrives in the mail today.

Second Copterx 450SE arrived in the mail today. Will use the first one for parts after all those crashes. Will start to build it tonight, and hopefully get some indoor vids at the indoor flyin this weekend. Going to install the ARC 3700 brushless motor this time. Never really got to test it out since i had the wrong pinion on it. Will be using the 13t pinion. Will also be installing that new gyro. G401B... 39 dollars. Have heard great reviews, so I'm itching to try it out and see how it does. Will keep everyone updated on the progress.

COPTERX 450 SE CRASH

Crashed the copterx 450 SE two days ago practicing backflips. Yes..i have it on vid. The vid will be posted on Youtube on Feb 21, 2008.
Alot of damage, but it can be fixed.

COPTERX 200 UPDATE

The frame is going to be the same. The motor will be a 3500kv motor. Much larger than the orginal stock. The motor will have a cooling fan. This motor will have alot more power, just slightly less than the stock motor used in the Copterx 450. Having a delay with pics, but should have them posted in another 24 hours. Sorry for the delay.
The copterx 200 will have its maiden showing at the German Airshow next week.

Copterx 200 tail modification

Heres the modification the Gpach made on the cx200. Using a cx450 shaft, and grips. The tail rotor gear is the actual stock gear that was drilled out slightly smaller than the 3mm shaft. With a little bit of glue its rock solid. This actual tail has been thru alot of crashes and its still intact and runs like a charm. Great modification!

My first attempt at a back flip

On saturday i attempted my first backflip using the Copterx 450SE. It went very good. The video isnt that great because i need height to attempt it. Next video i will attempt it at a lower height.

COPTERX WORKING ON NEW CX200 V2

So its not rumour anymore. Copterx is in the testing phase of the new CX200. Looks like a new tail rotor design. Very similiar to the 450 tail rotor, using a 3mm shaft. Canopy will look like the Align 250. Im hoping they will thicken the main shaft with a slightly larger head. GF blades will be used. Pics will soon follow.
